Anonymous Historians (FGrH) is Jacoby’s shelf of unattributed historical fragments, not one historian. One stretch is an Olympic chronicle: Pythagoras of Magnesia on the Maeander, stadion, twice Olympic and twice Pythian, five times Isthmian, seven Nemean; Apollonius of Alexandria, diaulos; Nikon of Boeotia, pankration, twice Olympic; a four-horse of Archidamus of Elis; a foal four-horse of Bilistiche the Macedonian, who is a hetaira of Ptolemy Philadelphus.
Another papyrus narrates Athenian stasis: the hoplite general Charias and Lachares the commander of the mercenaries quarrel; Charias occupies the acropolis; Lachares drives him out with Perrhaebian soldiers; Charias, Peithias, Lysander son of Calliphon, and Ameinias flee into Athena’s temple and are all killed by vote on Apollodorus’s motion. Cassander dies of illness in Pella and Philip the eldest son takes the kingship. Other hosted numbers: Alexander historians (Cicero and Arrian on Achilles’ lack of a Homer for Alexander), city boundaries, a sacred-rites notice, a Heidelberg Diadochi epitome.
