Anonymous of London is a modern name for the unknown compiler of a Greek papyrus of the late first or early second century CE, found in Egypt and now in London. The compiler is not identified.
What this site holds under this heading is two Greek books. One is the papyrus fragments: a survey of earlier ἱατροί and philosophers — names include Plato and Hippocrates — together with recipes, on a single damaged roll in Koine. The other is the Iatrika (Ἰατρικά) preserved in British Library MS Burney 86, fifty-five short passages compiled from earlier Greek, including Galen and Oribasius. The epithet Londoner on that second title is the manuscript’s modern home, not an ancient author.
