Aglaias of Byzantium was a Greek poet from Byzantium who lived during the 2nd century CE in the Roman imperial period. No details of his life survive beyond this attribution. His era coincides with the Second Sophistic, a revival of Greek literary culture, though his direct connection to this movement is not documented.
Two epigrams attributed to Aglaias are preserved in the Greek Anthology. These works survive only as fragmentary transmissions in the Koine dialect. His significance lies in his contribution to the epigrammatic corpus of the Greek Anthology.
As a 2nd-century poet from Byzantium, he represents the continuity of Greek literary tradition in the eastern Roman Empire during the Second Sophistic. His fragments are part of the diverse collection tracing the evolution of the epigram form.
