Old Scholia on Plato: On Aretē by Plato Commentary

A numbered table of four Athenian fathers and their sons makes up the notes on the dialogue On Aretē: Themistocles and Cleophantus, Aristides and Lysimachus, Pericles with Paralus and Xanthippus, and Thucydides with Melesias and Stephanus. The dialogue cites them as good men who could not make their sons good. The word for teachable stands as a lemma, and an adverb of place is glossed.
