Pseudo-Justin, On the Resurrection

Pseudo-Justin is the catalog heading for Greek Christian treatises transmitted under Justin Martyr’s name but written later. The work hosted here is De resurrectione (On the Resurrection), edited by J. C. T. Otto in Corpus apologetarum Christianorum saeculi secundi, volume 3, 3rd edn. (Jena: Mauke, 1879; reprint Sändig, 1971), pages 210–248.

The treatise defends the resurrection of the flesh against philosophical objections. Otto’s AuthorInfo places the writing in the third to fifth centuries (A.D. 3/5). It belongs with the spurious Justin corpus, not with the two authentic Apologies.

Read it as a late-antique apologetic argument on resurrection in Otto’s standard corpus, not as a recovered chapter of Justin’s own career.
