Philumenus was a Greek ἱατρός of the Roman Imperial period, most likely the 2nd or 3rd century CE. Later writers group him with the Methodics. Birthplace and dates are unknown.
What this site holds is On Venomous Animals and Their Remedies, a Greek compilation that draws on earlier books; the author page names Apollodorus. A Latin translation is later.
The book is how this name survives. It is not the earlier sources it quotes.
