Metrodorus of Chios, 4th century BCE, heard Democritus and taught Anaxarchus.
His books survive as fragments. Later writers name On Nature and a lost Trojan History.
The hosts speak of countless κόσμοι. An opening line attributed to him asks whether anything can be known, even whether knowing is possible. A fragment here is a later mouth.
