Μακεδόνιος ὁ Λυρικός
Macedonius the Lyric Poet
1 work

Macedonius the Lyric Poet was an obscure Hellenistic author of the 3rd century BCE. No biographical details survive. His name implies a Macedonian origin, but this remains unconfirmed. He is known only as the author of a single epigram preserved in the Greek Anthology, with his dating derived from the style and context of that work.

His sole extant work is an erotic four-line epigram preserved in Book 5 of the Greek Anthology. His significance rests entirely on his inclusion as a named contributor to that collection. The epigram is a minor example of Hellenistic erotic poetry, and Macedonius is cited in catalogs of epigrammatists but is not a major literary figure. His work forms part of the broad corpus of minor poetry collected in later antiquity.
