Bolos of Mendes was a Hellenistic writer from Mendes in Egypt, active in the 3rd century BCE. Later tradition attaches his name to books that also travel under Democritus of Abdera.
The books do not survive intact. What this site holds are fragments and testimonia: On the Cheiromekta, On Sympathies and Antipathies, To Leucippus, Fragments on Democritus and Magic, and two sets of testimonies.
A fragment here is quotation in a later host. The Democritus heading is a later name on this material, not Democritus’s autograph.
