Sclerias is a tragedian in Snell, Tragicorum Graecorum fragmenta 1, pp. 323–324 (Canon: 〈SCLERIAS〉 Trag., Incertum). Three pieces survive. One: in many mortals the look is well-born, but the mind in them is found ignoble. Two: unbearable is the man who, drunk or mad, is always safe toward himself and sick toward his neighbours. Four (starred): war does not plunder virtue as booty.
Moralising tragic iambics, quoted as gnome, not a tragedian who left no verse.
