Parmenon the Iambic Poet was a 4th-century BCE author. The 10th-century Byzantine encyclopedia, the Suda, identifies him as an iambic poet and grammarian from either Byzantium or Heraclea.
The Suda records two lost works: a collection titled Iambs and a grammatical treatise, On the Ionic Dialect. Parmenon represents a later practitioner of the iambic tradition who also engaged in scholarly study of the Ionic dialect, the very medium of his poetry.
His preserved entry in the Suda secures his place, however minor, in the history of Greek literature and Byzantine scholarship.
