Εὔδοξος ὁ Ῥόδιος
Eudoxus of Rhodes
1 work

Eudoxus of Rhodes was a Greek historian from the island of Rhodes who lived during the 3rd century BCE. He is known exclusively through fragments of his work and later citations; no biographical details survive.

His only known work is the History of Rhodes, which is not extant. It survives only in fragments preserved by later authors.

Eudoxus served as an important source for later historians and geographers writing about Rhodes and the Hellenistic world. Plutarch cites his account of the cost and materials of the Colossus of Rhodes, while Strabo references him in geographical descriptions. Through these citations, Eudoxus contributed to the historical record preserved in later antiquity.
