Crateuas the Rhizotomist
Κρατεύας ὁ ῥιζοτόμος

Crateuas the Rhizotomist on Plants and Medicine

1 work

Crateuas the ῥιζοτόμος was a Greek ἱατρός of the 1st century BCE. Later sources place him as physician to Mithridates VI of Pontus.

His illustrated herbal is lost. What this site holds are Botanical and Medicinal Fragments, recovered mainly from Dioscorides.

A drawing-and-plant book under his name is a later report. The Greek that remains is quotation.
