Archinus on Thessalian Geography and Myth

1 work

Archinus wrote Thessalica. A scholion on Pindar, Pythian 3.59, cites him for Lake Boebias near Lacereia, also called Nesonis, named from the nymph Boebis. Stephanus of Byzantium cites him for Dotium in Thessaly, named from Dotus son of Neon son of Hellen, against the story from Dotis daughter of Elatus.

Müller, FHG 4, p. 317. Canon: ARCHINUS Hist. (p. 4 B.C.).

The page is Thessalian hydronyms and eponyms: Boebias and Dotium.
