Amometus wrote On the Attacori and the Voyage up from Memphis. Pliny, NH 6.20, says he devoted a volume to the Attacori, a people in the land of the Seres living in a Hyperborean climate behind sunny hills, as Hecataeus did for the Hyperboreans. Callimachus (in Antigonus, Mirab. 164) cites his Voyage up from Memphis for a spring of Isis in Arabian Leucothea: pour in a cotyle of wine and the drink becomes well mixed. Aelian, NA 17.6, has him put a Libyan city whose priests charm sixteen-cubit crocodiles from a lake.
