Dromo was an Athenian comic poet of the 4th century BCE, active during the period of Middle Comedy. His victories at both the City Dionysia and the Lenaea festivals, recorded in Athenian inscriptions, confirm his professional success. No further biographical details survive.
Only two comedies by Dromo are known, preserved solely by their titles: The Suppliants and The Pornoboscus, the latter title meaning "brothel-keeper." Both works are lost.
Dromo exemplifies the many successful but non-canonical comic playwrights of his era. His play titles reflect the thematic shift in Middle Comedy toward social and domestic subjects, moving away from the direct political satire of Old Comedy. His recorded victories contribute to our understanding of the breadth of Athenian dramatic production.
