ΠΕΡΙ ΣΥΖΥΓΙΩΝ. Theognost. Cr. II 138, Bekk. Anecd. 1401: τὰ διὰ τοῦ ηφω δισύλλαβα σπάνια· δύο γάρ ἐστι τὸν ἀριθμόν· τὸ μὲν διὰ τοῦ η γραφόμενον τὸ νήφω ἐπὶ τοῦ φρονῶ, ἐξ οὗ καὶ τὸ νηφαλέος· ἐπὶ δὲ τοῦ χιονίζω διὰ τῆς ει διφθόγγου καὶ νιφάς καὶ νιφετός διὰ τοῦ ι , ὥς φησιν Ἡρωδιανὸς ἐν τῷ περὶ συζυγιῶ ν. Choer. Dict. 657, 11, Cram. IV 420: ὁ Ἡρωδιανὸς δευτέρας συζυγίας φησὶν εἶναι τὸ ξυρῶ οἷον ξυρῶ ξυρᾷς.
